Michelle practices Asian medicine because her joy and passion is to be of service to others and to help individuals overcome personal challenges and issues that hinder them from experiencing their lives to the fullest. She strongly believes that life should be joyful and is very passionate about empowering individuals to take charge of their health and well-being.

Michelle attended the nationally accredited medical college, The Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture, otherwise known as PHIMA College & Clinic, graduating in 2005 with her Master of Science in Acupuncture and becoming a comprehensively trained practitioner in Oriental medicine. Michelle was also a faculty member at PIHMA College & Clinic from 2009 to 2012. During this time she taught students how to master needling, guasha (known as “scraping”), moxibustion and cupping.

Michelle started Rock Star Acupuncture in 2007 to provide a safe healing space for those in search of total well-being in mind, body, and soul, while being treated like a rock star. She named her business Rock Star Acupuncture because of her love for music and spending 25 years in the performing arts singing in Broadway musicals. Since starting her practice Michelle has been specializing in stress/anxiety, pain relief, PTSD, weight loss/detox, addiction recovery, and pediatrics. Recently her focus and passion has shifted to helping and supporting families, especially mothers, on their journey of grief due to stillborn and infant loss. In October 2015 Michelle experienced the loss of her daughter, Harleyquinn at birth and found acupuncture to be a powerful tool for healing her mind, body, and soul so she could process her own grief and deal with her PTSD. Six months after her daughter passed, she became pregnant again and used acupuncture to support her pregnancy with her daughter Willow, whom was born in December 2016, and to help her recover from two c-sections in two years. She currently has acupuncture once a week to continue healing her broken heart, process her grief, decrease her body pain and quiet her mind so she can continue to be an effective practitioner to her patients. She always leaves her acupuncture session feeling grounded, joyful, and supported which is so necessary when experiencing grief. Michelle has brought a new awareness, compassion, and empathy to her practice since dealing with her loss by utilizing nutrition, essential oils and botanical medicine when treating.

Michelle had the opportunity to work at Blue Door Therapeutics in 2017. A new opioid outpatient treatment center located in Scottsdale, AZ that combined the use of medical cannabis with traditional medicine, alternative and naturopathic therapeutics as an exit strategy for pain pill dependency. She used acupuncture to help decrease withdrawal symptoms, manage cravings, decrease pain, and reduce stress.

Michelle returned from speaking at the Third World Congress and Expo of Traditional and Alternative medicine in Berlin, Germany this past June 2019. She spoke on why acupuncture should be one of the first therapies suggested to grieving mothers after baby loss. Her talk was powerful and heartfelt by those in attendance. Not only did Michelle speak at the conference, she was also the Moderator of the keynote forum and got to introduce the keynote speakers from around the world. Truly an amazing experience she will forever treasure.

Along with speaking in Berlin, Michelle took a Turbo Acupuncture masterclass in May that now gives her therapeutic superiority. Turbo Acupuncture is the missing link to ridding the body of pain and is more effective then regular acupuncture. Currently in the United States there are 80 million people suffering with pain. Michelle is determined to help as many people as possible to get out of pain and regain a better quality of life.

Michelle is licensed, nationally board certified, and insured. Her approach is a careful blend of Eastern and Western Medicine. She promises to do her part in treating you like a rock star by facilitating your body to heal itself through acupuncture. She needs your commitment to do your part as well by exercising regularly, eating healthy food, living a moderate lifestyle and keeping your mind active.
